MotorK, the European company providing unique technology and services to the automotive distribution industry, has today announced its first key hire following a notable funding round totalling $10 Million to expand globally.
Brian Coleman, previously Global Account Executive at Google, has joined the rapidly expanding AutoTech company as Chief Strategy Officer, as the company looks to expand its successful range of digital tools and technology that service the motor trade’s entire supply chain.
Responsible for developing relationships with senior executives at global and European head offices of major automotive manufacturers, Coleman supported them, their agencies and their dealer networks in developing and implementing digital strategies. He also played a crucial role in developing joint business plans covering a cross section of digital and social activities. Previous to Google, Coleman was Senior Manager of Brand & Advertising Strategy at Toyota Motor Europe.
He started his career in the automotive industry covering the sector for The Wall Street Journal, after which he spent three years at The Boston Consulting Group in Germany, working primarily in the Automotive practice area. He then spent eight years at Toyota Motor Europe in Brussels, starting in corporate planning and strategic projects followed by a senior management role at Lexus Europe.
Based in London, Coleman is charged with rapidly expanding MotorK’s operations through business development opportunities, strategic hires and above all partnerships with car manufacturers and key dealers who are looking to expand their digital services, to stay ahead of the latest trends by taking advantage of the technology and services that MotorK has developed for the motor trade.
Founded in late 2010, MotorK has quickly become one of the most important players in the digital automotive arena and a trusted partner to more than 90% of car brands in the European marketplace. With triple-digit growth year on year, the business has expanded into all major European markets including Italy, Spain, France, Germany and the UK and is now entering further European and extra-European markets.
MotorK’s portfolio includes the largest new car marketplace in Europe, DriveK, a SaaS platform for car dealers called DealerK, and Internet Motors, the biggest digital automotive event network in EMEA which aims to educate and inform the motor trade about technology trends and platforms.
Marco Marlia, Founder and CEO of MotorK, enthused, “We are delighted to accelerate our expansion across Europe with such a key hire and are extremely happy that Brian will be joining us for the next stage of a very exciting adventure. His arrival signals the start of fast expansion for us and we look forward to similar announcements in the coming months as we add to our expert team.”
