As we grow, we’re looking for a Backend Engineer to join our team and help us build the scalable, AI-driven solutions that will power the next generation of digital retail.

What the role is about

As a Backend Engineer at MotorK, you’ll be part of a dynamic, international team building the systems that sit at the heart of our platform. You’ll design, develop, and optimize scalable backend solutions, work closely with frontend and product teams, and bring real impact to thousands of dealerships and millions of end customers across Europe.

What you’ll do

  • Design and implement high-performance backend solutions that scale.
  • Develop and maintain APIs to support our frontend applications and integrations.
  • Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to turn requirements into elegant technical solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentoring of junior engineers.
  • Continuously optimize existing systems for reliability and performance.
  • Stay on top of industry trends and emerging technologies, bringing fresh ideas into the team.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as PHP/Symfony.
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Knowledge of frontend tools is a plus (jQuery, Vue.js).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Good communication skills and proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
